John Toohey Chambers are named in honour of one of Western Australia's foremost jurists and former High Court Judge, the Honourable John Toohey AC QC. Members of John Toohey Chambers are available for trial and appellate advocacy, opinion work, pleadings and appearances in all State and Federal Courts, Tribunals, Commissions of Inquiry and Administrative bodies - offering expertise across a comprehensive range of legal areas.

As a condition of their membership of chambers each undertakes to observe and maintain a standard of conduct to be worthy of membership of a set of Chambers named in honour of the Honourable John Toohey and practice in accordance with the principles declared by Australian Bar Association in 1993 in the Charter of Australian Independent Bars.
